    Frequently asked questions. Answered briefly.

What transactional lawyers, legal tech teams and M&A teams want to know before deploying Lextract.

    §2
    / Product
    / Product

What the Lextract AI platform does.

    What is Lextract?

The AI platform for M&A legal due diligence. Lextract opens up the data room, identifies red flags and turns them into deal intelligence, through to the finished DD report.

    What does deal intelligence mean?

Ordered, source-based knowledge about a deal: findings, register data, summaries and open points, each with the passage it came from.

    Further questions

    Are uploaded documents analysed automatically?+
Yes, as the documents come in, without anyone having to start it.
    Which documents does Lextract recognise?+
Hundreds of transaction-relevant document types, from commercial agreements to corporate documents, multilingual and even from poor scans.
    What does Lextract not find?+
Lextract does not pre-empt the final legal assessment. What is missing from the data room cannot be found by the analysis, though it does point to the gaps.
    §3
    / Data room
    / Data room and documents

Your data room stays with you.

Do we have to change our VDR?

No. You keep your VDR and connect it, or you use Lextract itself as a secure data room.

    Further questions

    Which data rooms are supported?+
The specific connection depends on the VDR in use and on the project set-up. We settle it during onboarding.
What happens if a document is filed in the wrong place?+
You reclassify it with a click and the analysis follows.
What is the difference between the data room and a chat upload?+
Documents in the data room are analysed in full and feed into the report. Files you only share in the chat are readable and searchable but do not go through the analysis.
    §4
    / Analysis
    / Analysis and control

    Sign-off stays with your team.

    Can findings be evidenced?

Yes. Every finding comes with the passage it came from, down to clause and paragraph. One click takes you there.

Does Lextract change anything on its own?

Only with your approval. Every change stays visible.

    Further questions

What is the analysis based on?+
On the documents in the project, the configured DD logic and, where connected, the register data. No training on your data.
Can Lextract review to our standards?+
Yes. You store your templates, review standards and report formats once. That is configuration, not model training.
Does every data room stay isolated?+
Yes. No reuse for other clients, no shared model training.
    §5
    / Registers
    / Registers

    Six European registers, cross-checked.

Company registers from six European countries. The data is retrieved automatically for every relevant group company and cross-checked against the data room.

    Countries
Germany, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Netherlands, Denmark, Czech Republic
    What comes automatically
directors and company data, shareholders, ownership structure, shareholder history and ownership changes
    What the cross-check shows
gaps and inconsistencies between register and data room
    What stays with the lawyer
the assessment of completeness, relevance and legal significance
    §6
    / Report
    / Report

The report comes in your format.

    How is the report structured?

Per workstream, with report, executive summary and annex, built from the findings.

Will the report come in our format?

Yes. You store structure, headings, style and branding; the export runs as a Word document.

    Is the report final?

Lextract produces the draft report. Review, legal assessment and sign-off rest with your team.

    §7
    / Security
    / Security and compliance

    What happens to client data.

Does Lextract train on client data?

No. Neither for model training nor to improve the service for other clients.

    Further questions

    Where is the data hosted?+
In EU-based cloud environments, primarily Microsoft Azure.
    Is deployment permissible under § 43e BRAO?+
Lextract provides the contractual, technical and organisational basis so that your firm can assess this. The professional conduct assessment on the matter remains with you.
What happens to the data when the project ends?+
It is deleted or returned under the contractually agreed return and deletion processes.
